Following the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco on September 8, 2023, Virgin Unite, along with the Eve Branson Foundation and Kasbah Tamadot, collaborated with local communities, NGOs and government to support recovery.

More than 100 pallets of supplies, including tents, sleeping bags, water bottles and winter clothing, have arrived in the hard-hit Al Haouz governorate. Virgin Unite said Thursday that much of the effort stems from a personal appeal from Richard Branson, which has led to generous donations from companies like Coleman UK and EverTrek.

These donations have provided shelter and essential supplies to more than 16,000 people in the High Atlas Mountains, helping them weather the harsh winter. British Ambassador Simon Martin praised the spirit of cooperation, highlighting the strong relationship between the United Kingdom and Morocco.

Community members expressed their gratitude for the support, describing the tents as “symbols of security and comfort” and a “lifeline” during difficult times.
