The British government has announced that as soon as possible, new advice will take effect on Friday, July 31st. Following the 10-fold increase in the number of coronavirus cases recorded in Luxembourg since early June, it follows similar restrictions that apply to Spain last weekend.

The government said:

Travelers departing from Luxembourg must be quarantined for 2 weeks. This includes returning British holiday makers and applies to people arriving in the UK, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland from Friday, July 31st. For more information on this, see How does British containment work? The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) warns of all non-essential trips to Luxembourg. FCO warnings are often the main trigger for travel insurance, and if you decide to travel, insurance will not cover you. For more information, see the Coronavirus Travel Rights Guide. British people do not say to come home early. The British government does not advise British travelers already in Luxembourg to reduce their travels and return early at this stage. Travelers in Luxembourg were told to follow the advice of local authorities while in the country.
