A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Japan's Ishinomiya prefecture at around 5.45 a.m. local time on Friday. Tremors were felt in Tokyo, Asahi and Ohara. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 23 kilometers.

After the earthquake, many residents took to social media to share their reactions.

“I was in Tokyo one night and woke up to our first earthquake at 5.45am. Pretty cool. Bring it on. Or were you rocking my world,” one person expressed on Facebook.

Another person commented, “Good morning Tokyo! No alarm when a 5.2 magnitude earthquake wakes you up. Haha.”

One Tokyo resident wrote: “I was sleeping and woke up because of the swaying and heard glasses hitting each other. I went to the reception where they confirmed it was an earthquake. It was about 5.45.”
