An earthquake shakes Lantau Island in Hong Kong on March 11

After several reports from concerned residents, the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has confirmed that an earthquake occurred on Monday 11 March. The earthquake, with a seismic magnitude of 2.0, occurred at 1.22 pm on Lantau Island, with the epicenter about 20 kilometers away. West Hong Kong.

According to HKO, they received more than 10 reports from local residents who felt the tremors, describing them as lasting a few seconds. Initial estimates likened the vibrations to those of passing trucks, although they were felt indoors and should have been noticeable enough to worry residents.
