Ankita Lokhande explains why she did not attend funeral of Sushant Singh Rajputs: the Tribune India

Actress Ankita Lokhande finally explains why she did not attend the funeral of actor and ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.
The actress said that if she ever saw Sushant like this, she could never ‘forget’ him.
Sushant’s final rites were performed at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai on June 15, a day after her death by suicide.
In an interview with Republic TV, Ankita said she was awakened by a phone call from a reporter, who informed her of Sushant’s death.
“I was sleeping and just got up with a call from a reporter. Usually I don’t take unknown numbers. I took the call and this reporter said, “Ankita, Sushant committed suicide!” And I was done. It was something that… you wouldn’t expect something like that, ”she said.
Ankita revealed that she immediately turned on the news and saw story after story about Sushant’s death.
“I did not know what to do. I was just there. The next day there was his funeral and I couldn’t come because somewhere I knew that if I saw Sushant somewhere like this, in this position, this stage … I have my whole life to live and I will never be able to forget this phase. So I decided I couldn’t go to the funeral, ”she says.
However, Ankita decided to meet Sushant’s father, KK Singh, and her sisters, who she was in contact with even after their breakup.
“Other than that, I had to meet his family. I wanted to make sure they were okay. Jo jaana tha woh chala gaya but uske papa the, behne thi (he was gone but his father and his sisters were there), and it was my duty to meet them. So I went to meet them, and they were in terrible shape. That’s it, that’s how I learned, ”she says.
Sushant and Ankita fell in love while working together on their show “Pavitra Rishta”.
The two dated for six years before quitting in 2016.
Ankita claimed that the suspect she knew was a cheerful person and could not have been depressed or died by suicide. However, she admitted that she had not been in contact with him for the past four years after their split. He was in a relationship with actor Rhea Chakraborty at the time of his death.
