3 men arrested in shooting near Rutgers University

Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting near Rutgers University in New Brunswick that left two people injured Friday morning, News12 New Jersey reported.

Christian Farmer, 22, Ryan Nasi, 22, and Walter Rodriguez Cardenas, 20, were arrested in Somerville after a woman was struck by a stray bullet in her home, and a male victim was taken to the hospital with injuries related to the shooting, news outlets reported. The shooting broke out near Easton Street and Hamilton Street, just two blocks from student housing.

The man was released and the woman remained hospitalized as of Sunday afternoon.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a telephone pole

A New Jersey motorcyclist died after crashing into a telephone pole Saturday evening, NJ.com reported.

Manuel Ramones Vicuna, 24, of Hamilton, crashed into a pole in the parking lot of Independence Mall in Hamilton Township about 7:40 p.m., the newspaper reported. He reportedly died at the scene.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609) 581-4000.

38 earthquake aftershocks have been reported in New Jersey following Friday's major quake

More than three dozen aftershocks have been reported around the Garden State since Friday morning's 4.8-magnitude quake, experts said.
