According to the USGS, there have been fewer than ten recorded earthquakes in Wisconsin. The last time was in January of this year at Maule Lake.

You can feel an earthquake in Wisconsin, but that doesn't mean it originated here. Earthquakes in Indiana and Illinois are more common because they contain active fault lines.

The largest earthquake in Wisconsin occurred near Milwaukee in 1947 and had a magnitude of 3.8.
