Earthquakes shake Baja California and San Diego County Sunday morning: Did you feel them?

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A series of earthquakes near the border Sunday morning shook parts of Mexico and San Diego County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the USGS, at least 30 earthquakes struck the Delta, Baja California — south of El Centro, California and Mexicali, Mexico — between 3 a.m. and noon Sunday, with most quakes measuring between 2.5 and 3.7 magnitude.

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake wakes people on the Mexico-Guatemala border

The US Geological Survey reported that the largest earthquake had a magnitude of 4.9 and occurred at 11:22 a.m. Sunday at a depth of 5.2 miles.

According to USGS tremor map reports, residents along the U.S.-Mexico border and throughout San Diego and Chula Vista reported feeling some weak to mild tremors.

Another larger earthquake struck the Mexico-Guatemala border just before 6 a.m. Sunday, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, the Associated Press reported.
