MEXICO CITY/GUATEMALA CITY (Reuters) – A 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred near the coast of Chiapas, Mexico, on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The US Geological Survey said the earthquake was at a depth of 75 kilometers.

Mexico's National Civil Protection Agency said on social media that it was monitoring the situation, but there were no initial reports of damage.

In Guatemala, where the quake could be felt in the capital, Guatemala City, the country's disaster agency reported structural damage in Quetzaltenango and San Marcos provinces, near the country's border with Mexico, including a landslide that blocked part of the road.

There is no tsunami risk, according to the US Tsunami Warning System and the Mexican Navy.
