Protesters arrested on campus in Hong Kong – BBC News

Several protesters have been arrested while trying to escape on a Hong Kong university campus surrounded by police.

A group of about 100 people tried to leave Polytechnic University, but they were met with tear gas and rubber bullets.

This is the third time the protesters have tried to leave after a violent and passionate night with the police.

Last week, it became a battleground on campus as more protests against the government became more violent.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong High Court ruled that the wearing of face masks was unconstitutional. Colonial emergency law was called for in October, but protesters largely defended the ban.

Violence is one of the worst months of unrest in China's semi-autonomous territories.

Protests began in the controversial extradition controversy, and have now become broader demonstrations against the government.
