Thrissur/Palakkat ∙ Earthquake in Thrissur and Palakkad districts. In Thrissur district today at 8.15 am, a minor earthquake occurred in Kunnamkulam Irumapetty and Pazhangi district. The earthquake lasted for 4 seconds. No injuries or other damage were reported. The National Seismic Monitoring System recorded a magnitude of 3 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred in the western region of Palakkad district. After 8 am this morning, the tremor was felt from underground in places like Tirumitakode, Nagalassery, Chalissery, Kakathiri, Kottappadam, Mathupule, Kothachira, Izhumangad, Kapur and Kumaranilur.
