Japan earthquake victims receive RM500,000 The star

AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd, in collaboration with Aeon Co (M) Bhd and Aeon Foundation Malaysia, has donated RM500,000 to the victims of the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Suzu City on the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. On January 1, 2024.

A fake check was presented to Japan's Ambassador to Malaysia, Takahashi Katsuhiko, during a ceremony held at the Japanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

The contribution consists of RM175,000 each from Aeon Credit and Aeon Co and funds raised by the foundation during a public fundraising campaign in January, which amounted to RM150,000.

The check presentation ceremony was attended by Aeon Credit Chairman Ng Eng Kiat, Aeon Malaysia Chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, Aeon Co Managing Director Naoya Okada, Aeon Credit CEO Lee Kit Seong and several members of the founding committee.
