PESHAWAR – An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck Swat district and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan.

Residents of the surrounding areas of the city felt earthquakes as people came out of their homes reciting verses from the Quran.

Details published by the Earthquake Monitoring Center indicate that the earthquake's intensity reached 4.9 on the Richter scale, while the depth of the earthquake reached 215 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
