A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.3 struck near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake struck 41 km (25 miles) southeast of the town of San Pedro de Atacama at a depth of 128 km (80 miles), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
