Former Red Bull Formula 1 driver offers 'earthquake' theory for current conflicts

Former Red Bull Formula 1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi believes the “earthquake” that has occurred within the Milton Keynes-based team this season has caused the team to lose ground to its rivals in the Formula 1 development race.

The Italian, who previously drove for Toro Rosso, pointed out that there were several factors that contributed to the weak development of the constructors' champions compared to the past, such as the sudden departure of Adrian Newey.

The 44-year-old believes this, combined with McLaren doing “everything right at the right time”, has eliminated Red Bull's performance advantage.

“Things have changed in the past few years,” Liozzi told Dutch network NOS.
