Frontline Report: Israel Kills Top Hamas Commander in West Bank | BBC News

Israel says it has killed the head of the Palestinian armed group Hamas and two other fighters in Jenin, as its major military operations continue for a third day in the occupied West Bank. Israeli security forces shot dead Wissam Khazem and then launched airstrikes against two other men as they tried to flee, according to a statement. The Palestinian Health Ministry said the three men died overnight near the village of Zababdeh, southeast of Jenin. Hamas also confirmed their deaths. At least 20 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the Israeli operation, one of the largest in the West Bank in two decades, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The operation has drawn international criticism due to civilian casualties and destruction of infrastructure.
