Donald Trump has spoken for the first time about what appeared to be the second attack on his life. Speaking in a live stream on social media platform X, the Republican presidential candidate said he and a friend were “picked up” by officers and put into golf carts when shots rang out. Secret Service agents saw a rifle barrel sticking out of the leaves hundreds of yards away. After opening fire, the officers chased the suspect, who dropped the weapon and fled, but was later arrested on a freeway. The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Routh, did not fire the shot himself, the Secret Service said. Routh appeared in a Florida court on Monday on gun possession charges.
