Another early morning earthquake was felt across Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia on Friday. The 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported just after 2 a.m. local time

A magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported on the south coast of British Columbia early Friday morning, with the epicenter located 21 km west of Tsawwassen, and about 25 km southwest of Vancouver.

According to the Canadian Earthquake Service, the quake occurred at 2:08 a.m. PT at a depth of 61.5 km. No tsunami warnings were issued, and there was no tsunami threat due to this earthquake.

There were no reports of damage, and none is expected either, but mild tremors were felt around Vancouver and Victoria during the early morning hours.

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Vancouver Island on Wednesday, the largest in a series of earthquakes to hit southern British Columbia over the past month.

Just last Thursday, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was reported about 18 km northeast of Victoria.

This early morning quake was slightly felt in Greater Victoria, Duncan and the Metro Vancouver area as well, where residents took to the X to report the quake, which reportedly lasted for about five seconds. Washington state also felt the tremors.
