Panic was felt among residents of St. Vincent, the Grenadines and Grenada due to a 5.0 magnitude earthquake in the areas of the cities of Kingstown and St. George on Monday evening.

The seismic activity occurred at approximately 9:45 pm on November 4, 2024. The tremors were felt for approximately several seconds causing panic among some residents of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and some parts of Trinidad and Tobago.

According to initial reports, there is no evidence of damage to lives or property. The UWI Earthquake Research Center has already confirmed that the quake occurred at latitude 12.48 north and longitude 60.95 with a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to information provided by the research center, the epicenter was 81 kilometers southeast of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 100 kilometers northeast of St. George, Grenada, and 146 kilometers north of Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago.
