The geology professor pointed out that the original American plan for the Renaissance Dam was to store only 11.1 billion cubic meters, but the Ethiopian government greatly exaggerated the dam’s specifications until its storage capacity swelled to 60 billion cubic meters.

Thus, the region is in danger of serious collapse, not from the current earthquakes, but if they increase and approach the dam.
