Earthquakes announce roster moves ahead of the 2025 MLS season

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes today announced their roster decisions ahead of the 2025 Major League Soccer season.

The club exercised 2025 contract options on four players: goalkeeper Daniel; Defenders Daniel Mooney and Jamar Ricketts; And striker Oseniy Buda. San Jose has reached a new contract agreement with striker Preston Goode through 2026 with an option for 2027.

The following 18 players already hold guaranteed contracts for the 2025 season: goalie Emi Ochoa; Defenders Vitor Costa, Wilson Isner, Paul Mari, Rodriguez, Oscar Verhoeven and Bruno Wilson; Midfielders Carlos Gruizo, Hernan Lopez, Cruz Medina, Edwin Mendoza, Jack Skahan and Nico Tsakiris; And the forwards: Chance Coyle, Christian Espinoza, Preston Good, Benji Kekanovic, and Amal Pellegrino.

The Quakes will not exercise 2025 contract options on eight players: goaltenders Jacob Jackson, JT Marcinkowski and William Yarbrough; Defenders Tanner Beeson and Tommy Thompson; Midfielder Alfredo Morales. And forwards Jeremy Ebobis and Will Richmond.

Defenders Carlos Acapo and Casey Walls, and midfielders Michael Baldisimo and Jackson Yueill, are out of contract after the 2024 season.

For select players whose contracts have expired or whose options have been declined, talks about returning to Earthquakes in 2025 are still ongoing.
