5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Telangana: Terrifying CCTV footage shows widespread tremors. Watch | Trending news

Several parts of Telangana state felt tremors after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the state on Wednesday. The tremor was recorded around 7:27 a.m. at a depth of 40 kilometers, according to the National Seismological Center. “M Equivalent: 5.3, Dated: 04/12/2024 07:27:02 EDT, Latitude: 18.44N, Long: 80.24E, Depth: 40 km, Location: Mulugu, Telangana,” the National Science Center published. The epicenter of the earthquake was downstream of the Godavari River near Mulugu. Shortly after the earthquake, residents shared on social media numerous surveillance camera footage showing widespread tremors. A video clip shows a security camera – on the balcony – shaking violently. Another video clip appears inside a house, where a young girl appears preparing to go to school, and she is surprised after the picture frame falls due to the strong tremors.

A video shared by X Handle Telugu Scribe shows a couple entering their residence and immediately running as the earthquake shakes the area. “The surrounding villages of Hyderabad, Hanumakonda, Siddipet, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Manuguru, Godavari Khani, Bhupalapalli, Charla, Chintakani, Mulugu, Bhadrachalam, Vijayawada, Gajayapetta, Thiruvuru and Gambalagudem shook for several seconds,” the post read. “The house is in fear.”
