A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Nevada Monday afternoon was strong enough to shake homes in California.

The quake occurred 15 miles outside Yerington, about 40 miles east of Carson City, around 3 p.m. More than 10,000 people reported feeling the vibration. Two hours after the initial quake, officials reported that fourteen aftershocks struck the area, according to USA Today.

The strength of the aftershocks ranged from 2.5 to 4.2. In size. Residents of Carson City and Reno reported seeing light to moderate shaking, the outlet reported. Meanwhile, people felt strong to very strong tremors near the epicenter.

The shaking extended to Northern California, where Sacramento residents reported seeing household items, including Christmas tree decorations and a computer, swaying, according to the Los Angeles Times.

No injuries or damage were reported.

Last week, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck California near Petrolia, a town about 265 miles north of San Francisco. The quake, which occurred at 10:40 a.m., triggered 39 aftershocks and a tsunami warning from southern Oregon to San Francisco.

The strength of at least 13 aftershocks ranged between 5.1 and 3.1 magnitude. The rest had a magnitude of at least 2.5.

More than 150,000 residents, many in Humboldt County, were shaken, according to USA Today.
