Yesterday, Google announced the top searches in Taiwan for the year, with “earthquake” taking the top spot as the most searched term.

The top 10 keywords reflect the most pressing concerns of Taiwanese users, ranging from natural disasters to political and sporting events, the company said.

Google said that “earthquake” and “hurricane” ranked first and second this year, which demonstrates the magnitude and frequency of the first two, and the great impact that the latter had on people’s lives.

This was also a presidential election year in Taiwan and the United States, and political figures were the prominent search terms, with “Ko Wen-ji” (柯文哲), Chairman of the Taiwan People’s Party, and “US presidential election” in the top five. .

The TAIEX index hit a record high this year, attracting attention and causing the ETF keyword “00940” to rise sharply in the search rankings.
