A 5.1 -magnitude earthquake in Myanmar near the Manipur border; No damage was reported

The earthquake center is said to have been in the town of Humalin in the Hikti area in the northern Sagaige province in Myanmar.

A 5.1 -magnitude earthquake was reported on the Richter scale in Myanmar near the Manipur border in the early hours of Friday morning, according to a report issued by the Earthquake Observatory at the University of Manipor. No damage was reported until the report was submitted.

The report said that the earthquake occurred around 12:53 am (latitude: 24.621 north, length line: 95.116 east, depth: 130 km) and its strength reached 5.1 degrees on the Richter scale.

The earthquake center is said to have been in the town of Humalin in the Hikti area in the northern Sagaige province in Myanmar.

“A similar earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale has the same area in Myanmar around 10:02 pm on January 3 this year,” said Manchendra Sanogram of the Manipor University Seismology Observatory.

However, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the National Seismology Center wrote: “A powerful earthquake: 4.8. : 94.87 east, depth: 106 km, site: Myanmar.

A similar light earthquake was also reported in Manipor on January 22. However, there were no reports of any damage.

The light earthquake occurred around 9:46 pm, and its strength was 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale, according to the National Earthquake Center. The earthquake center was said to have been Chawarshandbur in Manibur.
