He felt the earthquake today in New Jersey, New York

The earthquake center was near Paramos, New Jersey. Seismology is not common in the New York City. Another earthquake shook the area in April.

People in New York and New Jersey reported their feeling of shaking from a small earthquake today.

“I thought it was a big truck passing next to me, but then Jarani began sending text messages to each other, and exchanged reports via Ring cameras and Bergen Provincial groups on Facebook,” said Carmen Molina, an employee of Weather.com and residing in Bergen Province, New Jersey.

Molina lives about 20 minutes from the earthquake center near Paramos, New Jersey.

The American Geological Survey gave the initial earthquake power 2.4 degrees. This happened after one o'clock in the afternoon

Paramus is located about 17 miles north of New York City.

“Earthquakes are not common in this area, but they happen and can be very strong,” said Aurelone Sydney, meteorological expert and natural disaster expert at Weather.com. “April 2024 witnessed an earthquake of 4.8 degrees felt by New York City.”

Sydney added: “Parts of the northeast were covered with ice rivers, and some believe that the earth is bounced from the weight of those ice shells soluble now. It is the theory of ice reversion.”

There was no reports of damage to the earthquake today.

Some residents also said they felt panic.

“Did anyone hear the sound of a strong explosion that shook his entire house?” One of them asked on the Facebook boycott page.

Many other people answered that they also felt this, in New Jersey societies such as Rocheil Park, New Milford and Westwood.
