Paramus, NJ – shook a part of Paramus, New Jersey on Friday.

Initial reports of American geological survey indicate an earthquake of 2.4 size in Bergen Province, which was struck shortly from 1:30 pm, the reporting tool for USGs shows the “light” on the “moderate” effects.

Glen Rock Police and Bergen Emergency Management Office confirmed that they were looking into reports of an earthquake.

“Please contact the number 9-1-1 to report only emergency cases. No reports have been reported seriously at this time. We will continue to monitor this situation and issue more alerts as justified,” said Bergen County officials on social media.

Paramos mayor said he felt that the land was moving while preparing for a wedding.

“I shook the house. I looked out of my window, although trailer tractor is walking through my home, and a running house. This has shook a lot. The mayor, Christopher Deepaiza.

There were no reports of severe damage or injuries.

Flashback for the last major earthquake around the New York City area

The last major earthquake to hit the area was an earthquake of 4.8 size concentrated in the town of Redington, New Jersey last April.

This was the most powerful earthquake to strike the eastern coast in 100 years, and it was feeling it all over the entire northeast, until the buildings were shook in New York City.

This was followed by a 3.8 smaller earthquake in Gladstone, New Jersey and several weeks of final tremors.

Paramus is located in Bergen Province, New Jersey, less than 20 miles from Manhattan.
