Zalazlan, 4.2 and 3.0, hit off the coast

Two earthquakes were struck smaller than Washington coast on Wednesday.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first earthquake was hit at approximately 5:53 am Pacific time of 4.2.

The earthquake was reported about 143 miles southwest of Tofino, BC, at a depth of about 6.2 miles. To date, four people have been told about the earthquake to USGs.

Less than six hours later, another 3.0 earthquake hit the same public area.

On Wednesday's earthquakes took place inside the Juan de Voca painting, but not completely along the Cascadi's launch area, which is one of several areas of spreading on the ring of the Pacific Fire where earthquakes and other geological activity occur.

There were no immediate reports on damage or injuries.

While there are many relevant variables, geologists say the damage does not usually happen until the earthquake size reaches a place above 4 or 5.

Any person felt that the earthquake is encouraged to report it on USGs.
