Southwest Alaska faces the oldest earthquake in 35 years

Marsa, Alaska (KTUU) – an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude near our Takota on Wednesday evening.

It was the largest earthquake to hit the area since 5.4 earthquake was hit south of McGRATH in December 1989.

On Wednesday, the earthquake was nine miles southwest of Takotina, and a little less than six miles.
