Emir Gultekin (L), Asel Kilic and Sercan Hasan Kosar (r) were looking for their children for two years
The four -year -old prince was at home with his family when he hit two destroyed earthquakes in southern Türkiye on February 6, 2023, when he claimed the lives of more than 5,500 people.
The bodies of his mother, his 10 -year -old father and brother were found in the wreckage of their apartment bloc in Antakya, a city on the Syrian border.
But there was no effect for him.
Two years later, the prince is still missing. Dozens of families continue to search for their loved ones and at least 30 missing children.
Emir's Pursen Kisa reached the collapsed building in Antakya after an hour of the earthquake and waited next to the debris for more than two weeks with continued search and rescue operations.
She said: “We thought that we could find it, or at least a piece of his clothes, and some residue, a kind of tracking. But there was nothing. Neither in debris nor between the bodies.”
The Prince (PBUH) made a snowman at home with his older brother Ig on the day before the earthquake
Since then, she was on a mission to find her missing nephew.
A missing person at the police station was only submitted to the authorities to contact after three months to say that they had no papers showing that the prince was missing.
Its initial investigation is likely to be lost, so the entire process had to start from scratch.
Meanwhile, the panther published pictures of her nephew throughout social media, hoping that someone will recognize him. She visited dozens of orphans throughout Türkiye.
Her sister's remains are extracted so that the DNA samples can be compared to the remains that have not yet been determined.
None of her efforts succeeded.
She said she had even cross calls from local authorities asking how Amir was dealt with. For her, this means that her nephew has not been officially registered as missing.
After two years of earthquakes, the number of missing persons is still unclear.
In April 2023, the Minister of Internal Affairs said at the time, “A delegated person was submitted to 297 people, 86 of whom are children.”
By November 2024, the current Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 75 people are still missing and that 30 of them were children.

There are still conflicting accounts about the number of people who miss
This contradicts the main opposition party, who said they have a list of 140 missing people, 38 of whom are children. They shared their list with the minister, but they did not receive any response, as they told the Turkish BBC News.
Sema GULC, a spokeswoman for the location of the missing, believes that the contradiction may be because the Ministry of Interior has not counted those who were officially accepted by their families as a deceased.
After the earthquake, various allegations were offered to rescue children from the rubble but then lost.
The implicit meaning was that they were kidnapped after that, although these allegations were rejected by the authorities.
In January 2024, the ruling party and its right -wing ally voted on a parliamentary proposal calling for the investigation of missing children.
Then a committee was formed to investigate the cases of missing persons within the Disaster Management Authority in Türkiye (AFAD) – a government agency operating under the Ministry of Interior.
Sema Gullc, his 24 -year -old son, says AFAD uses several techniques to search for missing persons.
These technologies explain the comparison of the DNA taken from the relatives of the missing with samples of the bodies buried without identifying, to the use of the facial recognition system and the comparison of the images of missing persons with the records provided with the police.

The destroyed earthquakes have killed more than 53,500 people in southern Türkiye and more than 5,500 in Syria
However, opposition figures accused the authorities of violations or incompetence. They cite an example of a young woman buried under a different identity, only to extract and select it after a year.
“There can be dozens of others buried under false identities,” said Nermin Yildirim Kara, a member of the main opposition party.
She also argued that some rubble was wiped before the necessary survey, noting an example of a famous building in Antika, where 48 people are not perceived.
“This debris has been so cleared in a hurry that some remains may have been destroyed in this process,” she said.
BBC News Turkish called both AFAD and the Ministry of Interior to comment, but they refused to respond.
Meanwhile, missing families continue to search for answers.
“There has been an appropriate examination. They have immediately removed the debris, and we could not stop them,” said Ace Ambarlo, whose sister and six -month -old daughter have disappeared.
“Two years have already passed. What is it [the authorities] You are supposed to do now – bring a piece of bone and say this belongs to your sister? “
The search for six -year -old twins, Duru, Appk Quyionko, Irm Karaaca, 12 -year -old, and Six -month -old Umay Kisakam, have not resulted in results.
“We only settled for one bone, but nothing was found,” said Caneer Jurdakol, her sister's brother and her six -year -old twin daughter.
Cities competed with destroyed tremors in southern Türkiye are widespread with such accounts. But many missing relatives are determined to continue their answers.
“There is nothing yet to prove that the prince's nephew is either dead or alive.” “I will never give up to pressure and report it as a deceased.”
