Aam earthquake: an earthquake of 5.0 compressed peaks in the Maurigon area, Aam, at 2:25 am, felt in and outside my air. It happened at a depth of 16 km.

Earthquakes are very common in the state of Asam because the country is located in one of the most vulnerable areas of earthquakes in India. It falls under the fifth seismic region, which means that it is at risk of strong tremors.

Over the years, the region has seen some huge earthquakes, such as the Tibet earthquake in Aam in 1950 (8.6 volume) and the Shilong earthquake 1897 (8.1 volume)-among the strongest in history.

The tremors felt the earthquake in Kolkata

This comes days after an earthquake of 5.1 by Bougal, where the tremors felt in Kolka and several parts of the Western Bengal state. NCS reported that the earthquake occurred at 6:10 am on February 25.

An official at the Meteorological Ministry of India told PTI that the earthquake was registered near Buri in Odisha. The official said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 91 km in the Bay of Bengal.

He added that the tremor was registered in Latitude 19.52 n and the length line 88.55 AH.

Although the earthquake's tremors caused a moment of panic among the inhabitants of Kolkata, there were no immediate reports on damage or victims.
