Rescue workers withdrew more bodies from the rubble in Myanmar today after hitting a strong earthquake yesterday.

The earthquake hit 7.7 in the middle of the day with the epicenter of the earthquake not far from the city of Mandalay.

The earthquake was followed by many scroing tremors – including one 6.4 measurement.

A Red Cross official told AFP while rescuers were working to liberate the victims.

Officials said more than 1,600 people died. Thousands of others were injured and dozens are still missing.
