Taiwan rescue team is ready to help Myanmar after the earthquake

After reporting the earthquake, the National Firefighting Agency (NFA) was established as part of the Ministry of Interior a dedicated rescue team consisting of 126 people, consisting of rescuers of firefighting departments in the southern Bingong Province and northern Toyuan.

Unlike the rescue employees, the team also had six doctors, seven nurses and two veterinarians, and six research and rescue dogs and structural engineers with 15 tons of equipment, according to the agency in a statement.

President Lay Cheng T (賴清德) and Prime Minister Zhou Young Tae (卓榮泰) expressed their concern about the natural disaster, and pledged that the Taiwan rescue team would be ready to respond if he was asked to help.

Taiwan Foreign Ministry said it had contacted the government in both Myanmar and Thailand, but so far the two countries have not said they needed the help of Taiwan.
