Granewater, Wash. (AP) – A 3.8 earthquake was hit on Sunday morning in the CASCADE group in central Washington, according to the American Geological Survey and the Northwest Seismic Network in the Pacific Ocean.

The earthquake occurred at 8:15 am local time, about 12 km (7.5 miles) northeast of Green Water, a small community near Mount Rene. It was struck at a shallow depth of 2 km (1.2 miles), which increases the possibility of feeling it on the surface.

There were no immediate reports on injuries or damage.

The tremor is also located about 23 miles east of Enumclaw, 28 miles southeast Snoqualmie and about 67 miles east of the state capital, Olympia. More than 180 seismic readings were recorded, and this event was a low margin of error, with uncertainty in the horizontal location of only 0.2 km.
