Ahmedabad: Officials said three earthquakes of low to moderate intensity struck parts of Jamnagar and Kutch districts in Saurashtra district of Gujarat state on Monday.

They added that there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

The Earthquake Research Institute (ISR) in Gandhinagar said that a 3.1-magnitude earthquake with an epicenter of 28 kilometers southeast of Jamnagar was felt by people at 1.38 in the afternoon.

She added that the depth of the earthquake was 3.3 kilometers.

In the morning, two low-intensity earthquakes of magnitude 1.8 and 2.1 were recorded at 6.08 AM and 9.21 AM respectively in the Kutch region, according to the ISR.

It added that the epicenter of the 1.8-magnitude earthquake was 14 km northwest of Bahawu in Kutch, while the epicenter of the magnitude 2.1 earthquake was 35 km northeast of Khafda in the region.

The institute said that an earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale was recorded at 10:09 pm Sunday also in Jamnagar district, whose epicenter was 27 km east and northeast of the town of Lalpur.
