Size earthquake 6.3 Crete strokes in Greece

The German Earth Science Research Center (GFZ) said that an earthquake of 6.3 hit Crete in Greece on Wednesday.

The earthquake was at a depth of 83 km (51.57 miles), and GFZ said. To date, there are no reports of great damage or victims after the earthquake. Local authorities and emergency teams closely monitor the situation and urge residents to stay careful.

In Greece, a tsunami alert was released after a 5.9 -echo -emitter, 48 km southeast of Kasus Island. The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection urged the population to “stay away from the coast immediately” through the 112nd emergency alert system, as a precautionary measure.

Greece is located along the main rift lines, not alien to seismic activity. Between January 26 and February 13, the Earth Science Laboratory at the University of Athens recorded more than 18,400 a secondary earthquake near the Cyclades Islands. While these previous tremors did not cause any major harm, they increase anxiety among local communities.

Reuters reported that the population in Egypt felt the earthquake at the National Research Institute in the country and geophysics who have never reported victims or property damage.

The institute said it recorded an earthquake of 6.4 volume at a height of 431 km from the northern coast in Egypt. Also, residents in parts of Jalisco reported to know the tremors after an earthquake of 5.9 people from the coast on Tuesday, according to the EMSC. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).
