An initial earthquake of 6.2 size hit 16 miles from Rhodes, Greece. The tremor felt through parts of Türkiye, Egypt, Syria, Greece, and several other countries in the region. According to the earthquake struck the Dodecaniz Islands. The earthquake struck at a depth of 68 km (42 miles), according to the EMSC.

The National Meteorological Center (NCMUAE) reported that a 6.2 -magnitude earthquake was recorded in southwestern Tarkayi at 3:17 am at the time of the United Arab Emirates.

The tremors felt in a wide area, causing anxiety among the population in many cities and towns throughout the region.
