The study analyzes the features of flexibility after the main earthquakes

The researchers say in a new study published in the Earthquake Association bulletin in America.

To learn more about flexibility, HSIANG-Chieh Lee of the National Center for Science and Technology for Disaster Reduction, and colleagues analyzed the response of local governments to major zalalin in Taiwan in 2016 and 2018.

Their paper is part of a special number of learning magazine from the past to prepare for the risks of future earthquakes, 25 years after the Taiwan earthquake in Taiwan in 1999.

The study by Lee and his colleagues identified 13 features of flexibility, such as agility (the ability to respond quickly to unexpected events) and diversity (response that uses various solutions and techniques to reduce the risk of systemic failure), visual ability, unity, and repetition, among other things.

The study looked at responding to the 6.6 Tainan earthquake, which included the largest number of losses from one building in Taiwanese history. The researchers say that their flexibility framework must be applied to other types of disasters such as forest fires or floods, and they are planning to share their results widely with local governments.

He told me that they are writing a guide to exchanging their research with all 22 municipalities of Taiwan, along with universities and NGOs.
