A strong earthquake hits the Oregon coast today

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the 5.8 -sized earthquake was shocked on the Oregon coast at approximately 10:30 pm local time Monday evening.

Two other tremors hit the area shortly, measuring 3.3 and 4.9 size. It was the first and largest earthquake of about 8.5 miles.

There was no tsunami threat.

“This event was recognized as the main potential basis for the sequence of the earthquake,” said USGs.

Earthquakes were registered about 102 miles west to southwest of Portford, Oregon.

To the south, near Pearblossom, California, about 50 miles from Los Angeles, the small Temblor was hit with a size of 3.3 volume at about 10:50 pm local time on Monday 9 September.
