15 years after a massive bombing of Beirut killed former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, a man has been found guilty of murder by a special tribunal against the United Nations. Hariri was a Sunni Muslim politician in Lebanon. He had close relations with the United States and the Sunni Arab states and was seen in Lebanon as a threat to Iran and Syria. At the end of a 15-year investigation and trial, Salim Ayyash was found guilty of killing Hariri. His three defendants were acquitted.
