A series of strong earthquakes shook parts of Venezuela and Colombia in South America on Wednesday and Thursday, which sent residents fleeing homes and companies due to fears that shaking could cause structures.

At least four earthquakes were reported from 6.3 to 4.9 in at least two countries, Zulia and Trujio, starting on Wednesday night.

The latest earthquake was reported early on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

Tens of thousands of people across the region have reported their feeling of shaking, including in the Venezuelan capital in Caracas.

So far, there have been no reports on injuries, but the damage assessments in some societies are ongoing.

One of Venezuela's joint video showed people working in a restaurant talking with each other and listening to music before the start of shaking.

Initially, there was some confusion because the shake was on the lighter side.

However, shaking has become more intense, and workers can be seen quickly coming out of the building.

Another video showed a man who plays video games and appears to be confused with the start of the light shook.
