M & Sk cuts 7,000 jobs after pandemic leads to declining sales – BBC News

 



Marks and Spencer expects to cut 7,000 jobs by the end of the year following a drop in sales caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The cuts are above the 950 job losses already announced by the company and account for about 10% of its workforce. M&S is the latest business to announce large job losses, as the UK enters the worst recession of any developed country.
