YACHATS, Ore. — A 5.4 magnitude earthquake was among two to strike early Wednesday morning off the Oregon coast.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), a 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck approximately 280 miles west of Yachats, Oregon, at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday.

At 7 a.m., a 5.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded a few miles east in the same area.

Officials gave no indication of any type of tsunami risk.
