IIT, CBRI experts to help make Ram Temple earthquake resistant

New Delhi: Experts from IIT Madras and the Central Institute of Building Research, Roorkee bring the technical expertise to make Ayodhya’s Ram Temple strong, earthquake-proof and have a lifespan of at least 1,000 years, a trust official said.

“Soil samples are being sent to IIT Madras,” Champ Rai, Secretary General of Ram Janmabumi Tertha Kshitra Trust, said Wednesday in his first public appearance after the Bhumibujan concert on August 5.

He told reporters that about 184 saints attended the ceremony while the guests involved in politics included Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Minister Uma Bharati.

There will be at least 1,200 PCC pillars on which the foundation will be laid to make the temple a long-term construction, he said, adding that no iron will be used in the temple’s foundation.

The temple is being built by engineering and pioneering builders Larsen and Toubro.
