Araqchi expresses his solidarity with Afghanistan after the earthquake

WANA (November 5) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Afghanistan following the strong earthquake that struck parts of the north of the country, causing many deaths and widespread destruction.

In an official message, the Minister expressed his deep sorrow and sympathy over the tragic loss of life and massive damage, saying: “The recurrence of such a devastating earthquake in northern Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of many citizens and caused severe destruction, is a matter of great sadness and regret.”

The statement conveyed the condolences of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the government, the Afghan people, and the families of the victims, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded.

Iran also announced its readiness to send immediate humanitarian and relief aid to the affected areas.

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck northern Afghanistan early in the morning on November 3. Initial reports indicate dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries, while emergency teams were sent to assist the victims and carry out rescue operations.
