DU and JnU suspend classes and exams after earthquakes

Following the earthquakes on Saturday evening, all classes and examinations at Dhaka University and Jagannath University have been suspended until December 6.

Dhaka University Professor Saifuddin Ahmed confirmed the decision on Saturday evening.

The union meeting, scheduled to be held at nine o'clock this evening, Saturday, took the decisions.

The union, the university's highest policy-making body, met at the invitation of the university's vice chancellor, Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan, to discuss the emergency situation.

Due to Friday's 5.7-magnitude earthquake, at least 10 dormitories at Dhaka University have created new cracks in the walls, and plaster has fallen off. About 22 students were injured and received treatment, while many suffered sprained ankles, loss of consciousness and panic.
