The Second World Health Organization Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, co-organized with the Government of India, concluded today in New Delhi, marking a major milestone for global health as it attracted more than 16,000 online registrations and brought together 800 delegates from more than 100 countries, including ministers from more than 20 countries. Combined with a strong line-up of 160 speakers, the global traditional medicine community shared insights on how traditional medicine (TM) can strengthen health systems with safer, evidence-based and more accessible care.

The energy in Delhi was palpable as ministers, scholars, indigenous leaders and practitioners gathered to advance World health strategy of traditional medicine 2025–2034. The summit was not only about dialogue – it was also about action. WHO revealed Global Library of Traditional Medicinea first-of-its-kind digital platform that brings together 1.6 million TM resources, from scientific studies to indigenous knowledge. With advanced features such as Evidence Gap Maps and the AI-powered TMGL GPT tool, the library promises to transform access to reliable information and accelerate research worldwide.

Innovation took center stage with the launch of Health & Heritage Innovations (H2I), an initiative to nurture breakthrough ideas that bridge traditional practices with cutting-edge technologies such as AI, genomics and digital health. From more than 1,000 applications, 21 finalists were announced at the Summit and will enter a one-year acceleration program to refine prototypes, receive scientific and regulatory guidance, and connect with policymakers and investors.

The countries gathered behind Delhi Declarationwith obligations of 26 member statesmarking a new era of traditional medicine. This joint pledge is aimed at integrating traditional medicine into primary health care, strengthening regulations and safety standards, investing in research and building interoperable data systems to monitor outcomes. It is a shift from recognition to outcomes – ensuring that traditional medicine is not a parallel system, but a driver of universal health coverage.

“Through the Delhi Commitment, countries have agreed not only on why traditional medicine is important – but also on how to act,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “Traditional medicine can help address many threats to the health of our modern world: the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases; unequal access to health services; and climate change. It can help support care that is person-centered, culturally grounded, and holistic.”

Looking ahead, WHO will work with Member States to make these commitments a reality – increasing access to reliable knowledge, accelerating innovation and embedding TM in health systems everywhere. The Global Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025-2034 charts a bold path towards a future where care is more inclusive, culturally based and resilient.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
