It happened last night in the Target parking lot on Abercorn Street. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital but died of his wounds. Alderman Curtis Bertie posted a comment on the shooting on social media, saying “it happened as a result of a dispute over a parking space.” Mayor Van Johnson also responded to the shooting in a Facebook post. No dispute over a parking space, or anything else, should end in the loss of a life.” Many people are without a home after a fire in the savannah overnight. Crews responded to the scene just before 1 a.m. this morning and extinguished the fire in less than an hour. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Officials with the Savannah Fire Department say the Red Cross is now assisting families involved TODAY – Ousted Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro is expected to make his first court appearance in New York City. The US military arrested Maduro and his wife on Saturday. Both are currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The ousted president and his wife face drug smuggling and other charges. Analysts say Maduro's lawyers are expected to argue that his arrest violates international law.
