A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck central Assam at 4.17 am, with its epicenter in Morigaon district. The earthquake was felt in many northeastern states and neighboring countries.

A powerful earthquake struck Assam on Monday morning, sending residents running outside in fear as tremors spread across the region. According to an official bulletin, the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale and was recorded at 4.17 am in the Morigaon district on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 50 kilometers, and its epicenter was at latitude 26.37 north and longitude 92.29 east.

Tremors were felt across Assam and the North-East

Although officials confirmed that there were no immediate reports of injuries or property damage, the tremors were widespread across the Brahmaputra riverbank.
