In recent days, Israel has bombed two towns in southern Lebanon, warning its residents to leave before carrying out attacks on Hezbollah targets.

Iran-backed Hezbollah, a banned terrorist group, has been severely weakened by Israeli strikes on October 7. A ceasefire was put in place 15 months ago, but the Israeli army has carried out almost daily attacks along the border.
